Butter Biscuits
Ingredients:
- butter 1/2 cups
- caster sugar 1/2 cups
- egg 1
- vanilla essence 1 tsp
- self-raising flour 1 1/2 cups
- salt 1 pinch
- Directions:
- Melt butter in saucepan and colour to a light brown over medium heat.
- Cool slightly, add sugar and beat well. Stir in egg and vanilla.
- Fold in sifted flour and salt.
- Roll into walnut-size balls and place on a greased oven tray, allowing room for spreading. Press gently with a fork.
- Bake at 180 C for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool on rack and store in an airtight container.
