Butter Biscuits

Ingredients:

  •  butter                     1/2 cups
  •  caster sugar          1/2 cups
  •  egg                        1
  •  vanilla essence      1 tsp
  •  self-raising flour     1 1/2 cups
  •  salt                         1 pinch
  • Directions:
  • Melt butter in saucepan and colour to a light brown over medium heat.
  • Cool slightly, add sugar and beat well. Stir in egg and vanilla.
  • Fold in sifted flour and salt.
  • Roll into walnut-size balls and place on a greased oven tray, allowing room for spreading. Press gently with a fork.
  • Bake at 180 C for 10-12 minutes.
  • Cool on rack and store in an airtight container.
