    Sweet & Tangy Plum Chutney with Traditional Spices

        This homemade plum chutney is a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy flavors. Made with fresh plums, aromatic spices, and a touch of jaggery or sugar, it pairs beautifully with snacks, grilled meats, and parathas. A must-have condiment to elevate any meal with a burst of fruity freshness.


    🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups ripe plums (washed, pitted, chopped)
  • ½ cup sugar or jaggery
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1–2 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • ½ cup water

    👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Add plums and water in a pan. Cook on medium heat until soft.
  2. Mash the plums lightly while cooking.
  3. Add sugar/jaggery and mix well.
  4. Add salt, chili flakes, and cumin powder.
  5. Cook until chutney thickens (jam-like consistency).
  6. Add vinegar/lemon juice at the end.
  7. Let it cool and store in a clean jar.
